Cubism

Wikipedia tells us that, “In Cubist artwork, objects are analyzed, broken up and reassembled in an abstracted form—instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from a multitude of viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context.”  Georges Braque’s Violin and Candlestick represents a good example of cubism.  Cubism was said to have revolutionized the art world.  Even Picasso got into the act!  Mary Stewart, in Launching the Imagination, talks about cubism and references Einstein’s theory of relativity.  I’m sorry Mary, I'm having a hard time seeing the connection.
