Uptown Visitors

Development of this photo-montage was an exercise in divergent thinking.  As I worked at placing the archival photos over the base layer in Photoshop, the resulting theme only became clear toward the end.  A person’s mind might work this way in a dream (as mine occasionally does).  And, sometimes in a dream, images appear ethereal.  So…my dreamscape became the short story of planning a trip to the Uptown using a Global Positioning System (GPS) and arriving to the scene shown here.  The ghostly group of people and objects from the 40s and 50s are arriving at the Uptown for dinner and a movie.  My presence, holding the GPS, adds to the irrational nature of the scene and completes the intended theme.
