Those zany scientists at Sandia National Laboratory are at it again. Experimenting with mammalian cells, researchers injected silica into them and found that the cell maintained its original structure and could withstand greater temperatures and pressures than simple flesh. Hmmm...sounds like a fossil to me:) Anyway, researchers concluded that these new cells could function better after they were dead! Oh well, with all the zombiemania occurring today, why shouldn't the Sandia guys join in the fun!
