One Man's Prototype Is Another Man's Mockup

After reading Stewart's section on model making on page 124 of Launching the Imagination, the process reminded me of nuclear grade construction.  Similar to the art world the nuclear world makes use of models or mockups during design and retrofit of facilities.  Every time a new piece of equipment or component is needed, a mockup is designed and built.  From the mind of the engineer to the hand of the craftsman, a full-scale mockup is constructed and tested.  For nuclear processes, I'm on board with all the practice engineers want to take before they flip the switch.  I'm ok with the artists mocking up as well.  Actually artist Peter Forbes' stuff looks kind of nuclear!
